Problem
Quest has identified a situation that can adversely affect the performance of domain controllers and member servers when the ChangeAuditor agent service is either shutdown or during the agent upgrade process. This condition only exists on servers that are running the ChangeAuditor agent (version 4.7.33 through 4.7.45) along with Symantec Antivirus or Symantec Backupexec agents.
How does this notification affect our users on ChangeAuditor 4.7.33 through 4.7.45?
Some agents may hang servers when the agent service is shutdown or upgraded. A subsequent reboot may be required to resolve the issue.
Workaround
A workaround has been provided in solution SOL50972. Alternatively, you may contact Quest Support to receive an updated release, version 4.7.46, which addresses the issue.
Status
We have completed our investigation and have isolated the problem. This problem has been resolved in ChangeAuditor 4.7.46 and in all future versions.
